History, mission, and goals

Our History

The first nonprofit organization established by the Catholic Church in China to provide social services, Jinde Charities was founded in May 1997 (as Beifang Jinde Catholic Social Service Center), in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. It obtained government approval in 1998. In 2006, the name was changed and registered as “Jinde Charities.”

Our Mission

“Practicing Charity, Witnessing Faith”

Our mission is to carry out the Church’s traditional mission of providing social services, in active collaboration with local churches, NGO’s, and various members of society, both at home and abroad.

Our Goals

·To promote Christ’s spirit of universal love and offer assistance to the needy and disadvantaged in our society.
·To provide emergency relief to individuals and regions affected by natural disasters and human tragedies.
·To create opportunities for sustainable development for needy individuals and communities, regardless of race, religion, or background, to build a caring and harmonious human society.
